We heart vintage

Someone recently told me that she found it very hard to wear vintage because of all the floral prints and loud colours. I hope that these reasons do not deter you in wearing vintage. But if it does and if what she said strikes a chord with you, here are some hints to wearing vintage!

1. Pare down your accessories and keep your handbag and shoes to neutral shades. Black or brown are always a safe bets.

2. Start with baby steps. Wearing a fuchsia frock is better for your fashion sensibilities than wearing a fuchsia frock WITH large florals. If you'd like, start off with colours first rather than prints. You can slowly introduce prints into your wardrobe along the way.

3. Wearing vintage is always fun! Find ways to reinvent and reinterpret your vintage dress. You'll be surprised at how much mileage you can get out of it!
